List of entertainment events held at The SSE Hydro

Rod Stewart officially inaugurated the arena on 30 September 2014 with an opening concert before performing a further three shows the following days. He was the first major act to take the new stage at The SSE Hydro.

The SSE Hydro has been the busiest entertainment venue in Glasgow and Scotland since its opening in 2013. Many local, regional and international artists have performed at the venue, spanning a wide range of musical genres. A list of notable concerts are given in the table below, with other non-concert entertainment events also included. All events are arranged in an chronological order.^[1]

TV and award shows

Apart from entertainment events, the arena has also been a recording location for the musical competition The X Factor and hosted the MOBO Awards in 2013.^[90]

Notes

1. During the show at SSE Hydro, the lights came up with the encore performance of "Holiday" still left to be started. Madonna chose to continue performing the song with her dancers and asked the audience to join her in a sing-along. Representative of the venue reported that the power was cut off by Madonna's production team to avoid late fines
