This is a list of submerged places in France. Sometimes, entire villages are submerged under the waters of a reservoir. When the level of waters is low, the structures can emerge and be visible.
Submerged villages and municipalities
Villages and municipalities under the waters of a reservoir. Sometimes, a new village or municipality is created with the same name in another location:
- Champagne-Ardenne:
- Chantecoq, Champaubert-aux-Bois and Nuisement-aux-Bois, Marne (lac du Der-Chantecoq)
- Franche-Comté:
- Le Bourget and Brillat, Jura (barrage de Vouglans)
- Languedoc-Roussillon:
- Old village of Naussac, Lozère (lac de Naussac)
- Limousin:
- Port-Dieu, Mialet et Singles, Corrèze (barrage de Bort-les-Orgues)
- Vassivière and 17 villages, Corrèze, Creuse and Haute-Vienne (lac de Vassivière)
- Lorraine:
- Xapénamoulin, Meurthe-et-Moselle (lac de Pierre-Percée)
- Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur:
- Rousset, Savines and Ubaye, Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (lac de Serre-Ponçon)
- Old village of Salles-sur-Verdon, Var (lac de Sainte-Croix)

- Roselend, Savoie (barrage de Roselend)

- Tronçon Eygurande - Bort-les-Orgues de la ligne de Bourges à Miécaze, Corrèze

Some landmarks have been moved partially or completely to another locations and saved from being submerged:
