Lizzie's Loot

Lizzie's Loot is a charity organization based out of Tucson, Arizona. It works in conjunction with the John P. Bell Family Foundation. Lizzie's Loot was established in 2003 [1] by Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bell and her family. Lizzie's Loot helps to organize blood drives, toy drives, and various other fundraisers.

Elizabeth Bell

Lizzie Bell, now 21 years old, was diagnosed with Diamond Blackfan Anemia when she was six weeks old. This disease causes the bone marrow to fail to produce enough red blood cells for the body.[2] DBA affects only 600 to 700 people worldwide[3] As a result, Lizzie requires blood transfusions twice a month to stay alive.[4] These frequent transfusions require many trips to the hospital for Lizzie and her family. University Medical Center in Tucson is the site for many of these hospital visits. UMC is where the Lizzie's Loot Campaign began.
