Lloa people

Lloa is a group of indigenous Formosan people living in the southern plain of the island called Taiwan. The city of Chi-Lloa was named after the people, but was changed to (Chiayi) after the failure of their resistance to Chinese occupation in the 16th century due to the Manchurian conquest of China. The resistance had caused the genocide of the entire population, though few of them, especially women, changed their identity and were forced to marry Chinese immigrants.
