Lloyd Perrett (born 17 December 1994) is a New Zealand-born Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the National Rugby League. He plays at prop.

Background

Born in Hamilton, New Zealand, Perrett is of Māori[2] and Samoan[3] descent and moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland at the age of 4.[4] He played his junior rugby league for the Burleigh Bears, before being signed by the Sydney Roosters.[5]

Perrett is the younger brother of fellow Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs player Sam Perrett.[6]

Early career

In June 2012, Perrett joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs mid-season effective immediately, following his brother Sam.[7][8] In 2012 and 2013, he played for the Bulldogs' NYC team.[9][10] On 20 April 2013, he played for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team.[11][12] On 13 October 2013, he played for the Junior Kangaroos against the Junior Kiwis.[13][14]

2014

In 2014, Perrett graduated to the Bulldogs' New South Wales Cup team.[15] On 3 May, he again played for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team.[16] In Round 15 of the 2014 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Bulldogs against the Canberra Raiders, playing off the interchange bench in the Bulldogs' 22-14 win at Canberra Stadium.[17][18][19] In Round 23 against the Parramatta Eels, he suffered a season ending ankle injury in the Bulldogs' 18-16 win at ANZ Stadium.[20] He finished off his debut year in the NRL, having played in 8 matches for the Bulldogs.[21] On 1 December, he re-signed with the Bulldogs on a 4-year contract.[22][23][24]

2015

On 31 January and 1 February, Perrett played for the Bulldogs in the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines.[25] He finished off the 2015 season having played in 14 games for the Bulldogs.[26]

2016

On 12 January, Perrett was selected in the QAS Emerging Maroons squad.[27] In September, he was named on the interchange bench in the 2016 Intrust Super Premiership NSW Team of the Year.[28]
