Local ownership import substituting
In 2006, Michael Shuman proposed Local ownership import substituting (LOIS), as an alternative to neoliberalism. It rejects the idelogy of there is no alternative.[1] Shuman claims LOIS businesses are long term wealth generators, are less likely to exit destructively and have higher economic multipliers.[2]
