A monal is a bird of genus Lophophorus of the pheasant family, Phasianidae. There are three species and several subspecies:
- Himalayan monal Lophophorus impejanus. It is the national bird of Nepal.
- Sclater's monal Lophophorus sclateri
- Chinese monal Lophophorus lhuysii
