Los Angeles Media Fund (better known as LAMF) is an American independent entertainment company founded in September 2014 by Jeffery Soros and Simon Horsman, specializing in film production and finance. The company has taken great strides in a short amount of time to become a dynamic force in entertainment finance. LAMF has produced and financed five feature films and one feature documentary to date, and is actively developing projects for the domestic and international marketplace.

History

The LAMF Management team includes Co-CEO’s Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman, Head of Finance Patrick Murray and Head of Production Cher Hawrysh. They have produced the following films:

- Romantic adventure The Space Between Us starring Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield, Britt Robertson and Carla Gugino, directed by Peter Chelsom (Hector and the Search for Happiness) and to be released on December 16th 2016. LAMF is executive producing alongside Southpaw Entertainment and co-producing and co-financing with STX Entertainment.[3]
- Crime thriller True Crime, based on the David Grann New Yorker article and directed by Alexandros Avranas, starring Jim Carrey, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Marton Csokas.[4][5] LAMF is financing and producing alongside Brett Ratner and John Cheng of RatPac Entertainment and David Gerson. The film will premiere at the 2016 Krakow International Film Festival.
- Supernatural horror flick The Bye Bye Man with Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount, Doug Jones, Carrie-Anne Moss and Faye Dunaway, co-financed with STX Entertainment, produced alongside Intrepid Pictures and directed by Stacy Title.[6][7][8] The film will be released on Friday, January 13th, 2017.
- Feature documentary Shot In the Dark tells the story of Orr Academy’s up-and-coming basketball star, Tyquone Greer, and focuses on his struggles on and off the basketball court under the tutelage of his fiery head coach, Lou Adams. Director Dustin Nakao Haider sets this intimate story against the larger backdrop of his own hometown, Chicago – a city celebrated for its sporting legends, but challenged by poverty and violence. LAMF is financing and producing alongside Derek Doneen and Daniel Patrick Dewes, Daniel Poneman as well as Dan Janvey, Michael Gottwald, and Josh Penn. The film is in post-production and will be released in Spring 2017.
- Comedic dance film Step Sisters, directed by Charles Stone III (Lila & Eve, Drumline), written by Charles Hayward, financed and produced alongside Matt Alvarez, Lena Waithe and Benjamin Jones. The ensemble cast includes Megalyn Echikunwoke, Eden Sher, Lyndon Smith, Gage Golightly, Nia Jervier, Alessandra Torresani, Marque Richardson, Naturi Naughton, Matt McGorry, Robert Curtis Brown. The film is in post-production and will be released in Spring 2017.

In May 2016, LAMF announced their next endeavour: Juliet, Naked, to be directed by Jesse Peretz (My Idiot Brother and Girls). The film is based on the Nick Hornby (Brooklyn, Wild and About a Boy) novel of the same name, with a target release of Spring 2017. LAMF is financing and producing alongside Judd Apatow, Barry Mendel, Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger.
