Lough Derg Yacht Club
Lough Derg Yacht Club based at Dromineer in County Tipperary is reputedly one of the world’s oldest yacht clubs[1][2][3] having been founded in 1835. It is one of two yacht clubs in Ireland with a fleet of Shannon-One-Design sailing dinghies. The club is based in a modern clubhouse on the lough shore.[4]
The RNLI Lough Derg Lifeboat Station, the first inland lifeboat station to open in Ireland, is located at the Yacht Club.[5][6]
The Mirror world championships were hosted at Dromineer during summer 2013.[7]
