Maxim Mikhaylovich Mikhaylov (Russian: Максим Михайлович Михайлов; born 19 March 1988) is a Russian volleyball player, a member of Russia men's national volleyball team and Russian club VC Zenit-Kazan, gold medalist of the Olympic Games London 2012, bronze medalist of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, gold medalist of the World Cup 2011, European Champion 2013, multimedalist of the World League.
Career
Maxim Mikhaylov started playing volleyball in the Leningrad region under the guidance of Valery Besprozvannykh. Since from 2003 Maxim performed as an outside striker in different Yaroslavl club.
National team
In 2008 Russia, including Mikhaylov, won bronze medal of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008. At the next Olympics his team achieved gold of the Olympic Games 2012 in London.[4] In September 2013 his national team beat Italy in final of the European Championship (3–1) and achieved gold medal.[5] Mikhaylov was named best spiker and best scorer at the 2012 Olympics.[3] He missed the early rounds of the 2013 season due to a shoulder injury and most of the 2014 season due to injuries to both ankles, which required surgery.[3] He played at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Club
Mikhaylov at the 2010 year join to Zenit Kazan. he with zenit winner CEV Champions League in 2011–12, 2014–15, 2015–16 season and boronz medalist in World Championship Club 2011.[6]
Personal life
Mikhaylov is married to Anastasia and has a son Nikita.[7]
