Manavya

Manavya (which means "Humanity" in Marathi Language) is a registered non-government organization (NGO) in India, founded by Vijaya Lawate, with the mission of rehabilitating children and women affected by HIV/AIDS. Their mission statement is β€œTo provide residential care and rehabilitation of HIV/AIDS affected destitute-orphaned children and women.”[1]

Manavya established Gokul, a home for HIV+ children situated in Bhugaon, which offers shelter, education, vocational opportunities, nutritional diet and medical treatment and assistance (ART).[1] The Gokul shelter has a government-recognized hospice for children diagnosed with HIV who have been abandoned by their families.[2]

Manayva has the Krishnarpanam Niramay Medical Research Center on the Gokul premises.[1]
