The Mannheim Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MCEI) in Mannheim, Germany is a distinguished interdisciplinary and interdepartmental center for entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Mannheim, Germany.[1] The institute is supported by the IfM – Small and Medium Sized Companies and Entrepreneurship and the Chair of SME Research & Entrepreneurship at the University of Mannheim. Under the leadership of the directors Michael Woywode and Robert Allen Isaak,[2] MCEI currently employs a staff of about 10 researchers and Ph.D students. The MCEI was established in Mannheim in 2012 by Jessica Di Bella, former Head of Mannheim Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. MCEI provides a platform for students, young entrepreneurs, sponsors and investors, supports start-ups, and acts as an accelerator/incubator. The institute's mission is to foster networking, enhance knowledge exchange and entrepreneurship research.[3]

Besides research the MCEI manages both bachelor and master thesis and offers several university courses such as "MAN 450: Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Model Design", "MAN 630 Introduction to Entrepreneurship", "MAN 631 Creativity and Entrepreneurship in Practice", "MAN 632 Advanced Entrepreneurship", "MAN 635 Social Entrepreneurship: Targeting Social Capital through Ecopreneurship", "MAN 636 International Entrepreneurship and Managing Change" or "MAN 770 Research Seminar".
