Daughter and student of the painter Ferdinand-Joseph Godefroid, she became a professor of arts and music at the institute of Saint-Germain de Jeanne Campan, before quitting in 1795 to dedicate herself completely to painting. She entered the studio of baron Gérard. She was also a student of Isabey who painted portraits in oil, aquarel and pastels.

Since 1800 she exhibited numerous portraits at the Louvre.
