Marilyn Sachs (born December 18, 1927) is an American author of children's books, notably: Veronica Ganz, which received a Notable Book designation from the American Library Association (ALA) in 1968; The Bears' House, a National Book Award finalist in 1972, and A Pocket Full of Seeds, which received an Outstanding Book of the Year designation from the New York Times. Sachs was born in New York City and grew up in the Bronx. She received her B.A. from Hunter College and an M.S. in library science from Columbia University. [1][2]
