Markelle Fultz (born May 29, 1998) is an American college basketball player who plays for the Washington Huskies of the Pac-12 Conference. He is a freshman at the University of Washington and was an All-American high school player.

High School Career

Fultz attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.[1] Fultz spent his Sophomore year on DeMatha's Junior Varsity Team. In his Junior year Fultz averaged 16.5 points per-game. As a Senior Fultz averaged 19.1 points per game while leading DeMatha to a Maryland Private School League Championship. Fultz was a member of the 2016 u18 Fiba America's Gold Medal championship Team. Prior to his Senior year Fultz played AAU for the DC Blue Devils of the Under Armour Association Circuit.

Fultz was a five-star recruit and is regarded as one of the top players in the 2016 class.[2] He played in the 2016 McDonald’s All American Game and Nike Hoop Summit.[3][4] Fultz committed to the University of Washington to play college basketball.[5][6]

College Career

He made his first appearance in a Husky uniform on November 3, 2016 in an exhibition game against Western Washington. Coming off the bench, Fultz tallied 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three turnovers, and one blocked shot in 23 minutes of play.[7] In his college debut game, Fultz had 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists against the 2-0 Yale Bulldogs.
