History

The history begins in 1962 from UD Logam Jawa, a simple home kitchen industry founded by Alim Husain and his colleague Gunardi Go.[1] Before becoming as big as it is today, the history of Maspion is quite unique and simple. Alim Husain, Alim Markus's father, set up a small business that produces oil lamps made of aluminum and metal. Companies that stand circa 1961 was named UD Logam Jawa. There were only 8 employees and they can produce about 300 dozen per day. From the kerosene lamps, comes the production of hurricane lamps for the fishermen. The late '70s began producing furniture with materials such as plastic buckets, basins, pans, and others. In 1972, the family business Alim Husain is progressing and growing, designing a new name and logo. Alim Husain's family finally gained a new name, namely Maspion.

After the foundation of PT Maspion, Alim Hussein handed over the baton to his leader as president Alim Markus was the eldest son. With Alim Mulia Sastra, Alim Satria, and Alim Prakasa respectively managing the director positions. Alim Husain himself held the position of chairman.

The company employs approximately 13,000 people with manufacturing facilities across four industrial areas in Sidoarjo and Gresik, East Java, and one factory in Jakarta and West Java.
