Mathiveri (Dhivehi: މަތިވެރި) is one of the 8 inhabited islands of Alif Alif Atoll.

Mathiveri is located at the central aria of North ari atoll. The population of Mathiveri was 901 in October 2016.

Island Council

The second island council was elected on 16 January 2014 and the members took their oath on 26 March 2014. The council has 5 members elected by the people of Mathiveri. President of the council is Ismail Athif(MDP). He was elected as the president on 26 March 2014. Vice President of the council is Ahmed Aslam (MDP). The other members are Mauroof Khaalid (MDP), Ibrahim Imraan (PPM) and Imaad Mohamed (PPM).

Facilities

There is a health centre in the island to provide basic health care service to the community. The health centre has a medical officer and 2 registered nurses and nearly 15 staff members.A police station is established in mathiveri island.

There is a school (up to grade 10) on the island to educate the children of the community. The principal of the school is Mr. Aneesul Rahumaan.
