History

BharatMatrimony operates in 15 regional languages. The company has pioneered several matrimony related services such as Assistedmatrimony,[2] a personalized matchmaking service for busy professionals where a trained relationship manager does the matches and facilitates meetings between prospects. Elite Matrimony,[3][4] a premium matchmaking service for the upper crest that offers privacy and confidentiality during the matchmaking process.[5][6] CommunityMatrimony.com, the world's single largest conglomerate of over 350 community oriented portals was launched in 2009.[7]

The company pioneered the personal assisted service in 2008 with the launch of BM Privilege.[8] This was then renamed Privilege Matrimony in 2009.[9] Later it became Assisted Matrimony. Trained relationship managers understand member preferences, search for matching profiles and send them to members. They then contact prospects and facilitate meetings on mutual consent of prospective families.[10]

Elite Matrimony, a premium matchmaking service, was launched in 2008.[11]

In 2012, the company came out with Matrimony Directory, a wedding vendors classifieds portal[12] It features over 50,000 wedding related services in over 20 cities.

BharatMatrimony has mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Nokia and Android users in India. It also has an upgraded WAP site. Community Matrimony also has mobile apps.[13][14]

Back in the early 2000s, when there was skepticism about online matrimony and fear about paying online, the company pioneered doorstep collections in India.[15] The company introduced features on their website like Matchboard, SoulMate Search, AstroMatch, and Express Interest to help customers make the right matches.[16]

In 2006, Bharat Matrimony earned an entry in the Limca Book of World Records for having facilitated the highest number of documented marriages online in India.[17]

In 2013, Consim Info changed name to Matrimony.com[18]
