Maurizio Buscaglia (born April 9, 1969) is an Italian professional basketball coach. He is currently the head coach of Aquila Trento.
Career
After spending years coaching the youth teams of two clubs in Perugia and two more in Bologna, Buscaglia was offered the head coach role for the 1996–97 season with Piove di Sacco. For the 2001-2002 season he began the assistant coach of Bears Mestre in Serie B and later he was nominated as the head coach of the team.
In 2003 he was engaged by Aquila Trento In Serie C1, where he was until 2007, achieving promotion to Serie B in 2005.
He later went back to Mestre, and then Perugia Basket achieving many promotions.
In 2010 he became again the head coach of Aquila Trento. In that season he achieved promotion to Serie A2. In 2013-14 season he won the Italian LNP Cup and, in the same years he achieved promotion to Serie A for the first time.
At the end of the 2014-15 Serie A season his team finished the Regular Season in fourth place and was named as Serie A Coach of the year.[1]
2015-16 Eurocup season was the first one for him and his team, at the end of that he was named as Eurocup Basketball Best Coach of Year.[2]
