Maxwell Zeb Shumba

Maxwell Shumba is the founding president of the Zimbabwe First Party.[1] He coined the method of party building called brick by brick, fresh legs and fresh ideas in preparation for Zimbabwean elections due in 2018.

Political background

Dr. Maxwell Shumba is a former member of National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) in Zimbabwe;[5] when he attended the 28–29 February 1999 People’s Working Convention[6] as a delegate at Chitungwiza’s Aquatic Center. Dr. Shumba is the former Vice Chairman MDC Ohio Branch (USA).[7] Founder and former Chairman MDC Greater Cincinnati Branch (USA), Founding Chairman of MDC North America Province (NAP) and Founding Chairman of MDC USA Province[8] when NAP changed structure. Founder and principal administrator of the now defunct former MDC national website www.mdczw.org, the predecessor to their current mdc national website. Former Chief Political Strategist to the MDC T President.[9][10] Political analyst (Zimnet Radio panelist (former) and SW Radio Africa (former)).[11] and ZimNet Radio Station.[12] He is the founding father of the Zimbabwe First (ZimFirst) Party also known as Zimbabwe People First Party or simply People First Party, which he claims to be a platform for Fresh Ideas and Fresh Legs for the people of Zimbabwe to operate from. He founded the people first movement which according to his Op-Eds published by multiple newspapers, signifies his belief in the sanctity of serving the interests of the people first as a premise to drive all governance decisions. As evidence by his public stance against the feared government of President Robert Mugabe, Dr. Shumba has challenged the president whom he accuses of turning Zimbabwe into a mirror image of North Korea.[13][14] He claims to be a firm believer in the three core pillar values of ZimFirst: Honesty, Accountability, and Unity.[15]
