Melissa Barrera is a Mexican actress and singer.[1]She is best known for starring in La Academia(2011),La Mujer de Judas(2012),La Otra Cara del Alma(2012),Siempre Tuya Acapulco (2014) and Tanto Amor(2015).
Career
Musical career
Her television debut was on the program La academia in 2011, where she showed her talent for singing.[2] Her voice has been cited as very beautiful and praised for her wide and powerful range showcased in "Eres tu","Quiero Recuperarte" and her cover of "All That Matters Now" and "Here Right Now" alongside Vince that she performed during "Concierto a beneficio".In 2014 she performed a cover of Jessie J's "Domino" alongside Karla Herarte in the semi final of "La Academia Kids" on Azteca el trece which received massive applause from the audience and the judges.In 2015, she recorded the theme music “Volver a caer” for the telenovela "Tanto Amor" alongside the singer Kalimba.[3]
Acting
In 2012 she participated in the telenovelas, La mujer de Judas and La otra cara del alma.[4] In 2014 participated in the film L for Leisure.
In 2014 she obtained her first lead role in the telenovela, Siempre tuya Acapulco with the Venezuelan actor Daniel Elbittar.[5]as the lead protagonists.Her performance in siempre tuya acapulco as Olvido Perez was very well received which gained her another lead role In 2015 with Mexican actor Leonardo Garcia, in the last telenovela produced by TV Azteca, Tantor amor.[6]as Mia Gonzalez.
