AllMusic | [3] |
AllMusic rated the album with 1 star.,[3] however, the average Amazon.com review rating is 4 stars. Some people in jazz saw this as Shank "selling out" to pop music, however, he already had his feet firmly plants in the populist Latin Jazz camp and from a contemporary perspective the tunes he covers are largely enduring pop classics and not passing fads.
