Mikhail Petrov (born 6 January 1965) is a Bulgarian male former weightlifter, who competed in the lightweight class and represented Bulgaria at international competitions. He won the gold medal at the 1985, 1986 and 1987 World Weightlifting Championships in the 67.5 kg category.[1] Petrov became IWF World Weightlifter of the Year in 1987. He st world records in the Clean & Jerk (200.5 kg) on 8 September 1987 at the World Championships and in total (355 kg) on 12 May 1987 in Seoul, South Korea. As this weightclass is discontinued after 1992, the records have in this weight class never been broken.
