Minerul Motru is a Romanian professional football club from Motru, Gorj County, founded in 1962.
In the Cupa României, the club's best achievement was when it reached the Round of 32 phase in the 2002–03 season.
Minerul played for 16 seasons in the Divizia B during the following periods: 1973–74, 1975–76, 1982–85, 1988–91, 1995–2000 and 2003–2006. Its best finish was at the end of the 1982–83 Divizia B and 1996–97 Divizia B seasons, when it finished 4th.
In the summer of 2016, after serious financial problems, the senior team was dissolved, but the club continue to exist at youth level.[2]
