Moody McCarthy

Moody McCarthy (born Matthew Patrick McCarthy) is an American stand-up comedian who has made multiple network TV appearances. McCarthy was raised in Syracuse, New York, the 6th of 7 children, and graduated from Corcoran High School in 1984, before attending New York University.[1]

Moody began his comedy career in Syracuse in 1992 and from 1994-95 covered sports on WYYY's ("Y94FM") morning show. He is still a regular guest on WTKW ("TK99") with "Gomez & Dave in the Morning". [2]

McCarthy has made appearances on The David Letterman Show on July 12, 2012 and September 5, 2014.[3] His first network appearance was on the re-vamped Star Search in 2003. Moody also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2004, and was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing in 2006. In 2014 he advanced to the 2nd round of America's Got Talent but was not shown performing in the telecast.[4]

His debut CD, "The Night it Went Well", has received play on satellite radio.

On November 4, 2012, McCarthy married Molly Mandell.[5] They currently live in New York City.
