Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films (MIFF), is a festival organized in the city of Mumbai (Bombay) by the 'Films Division', Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. It was established in 1990,[1] and focuses on documentary, short and animation films.

This festival is held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai. Various sessions of film discussion and promotional work for cinema is presented, sound is managed by young and renowned sound engineers alike with proper announcements being made before film sessions at INOX, NCPA, Cinemax and Liberty Cinemas (in 2012).

Films are accepted from all over the world though there is a clear emphasis on Indian cinema ( film).

14th Mumbai International Film Festival, 2012

The 14th edition was held in October 2012.[2] Jury members included Rahul Bose, Andy Tennant, Im Sang-Soo, Pascale Chavance and Sergio Machado. International Competition for the First Feature Films of Directors aims to attract fresh talent to the festival. Introduced for the first time by an Indian festival, the 'International Competition for the First Film of Directors' competition was open to debut filmmakers from all over the world. Films made within one calendar year from the date of festival could participate in this section and compete for cash awards amounting to USD 200,000. Films were selected by Chairman of MAMI, Shyam Benegall and Festival Director, Srinivasan Narayan.assisted by a Selection Committee.

15th Mumbai International Film Festival, 2013

It was held from October 17 to 24, 2013.[3]
