Murat Ülker (born March 21, 1959) is a Turkish businessman, chairman of Ülker and Yıldız Holding, Turkey's largest food producer.

Early life

Murat Ülker was born in 1959 and is a graduate of Bogazici University.[1] He is a descendant of the founders of Ülker, a Turkish manufacturer of biscuits, crackers, and chocolates that was founded in 1944 by Sabri Ülker and Asim Ülker.

Career

According to Forbes, Ülker has a net worth of $4.0 billion, as of January 2015.[1]

Personal life

He is married with three children and lives in Istanbul.[1] Ülker is a collector of modern and contemporary Turkish art.[2] In November 2009, he acquired Burhan Dogançay's painting Mavi Senfoni (Blue Symphony) at auction for US$1,700,000; the highest price ever paid for a work by a living Turkish artist.[3]
