The successive Mussolini cabinets form the longest-serving cabinet in the history of united Italy: the cabinets under Mussolini stayed in office from 31 October 1922 to 25 July 1943 for a total of 7572 days (20 years, 8 months and 25 days).
On taking office, the government was composed of:
- 3 fascists : Alberto De Stefani, Giovanni Giuriati and Aldo Oviglio, plus the same Mussolini.
- 2 Italian People's Party: Stefano Cavazzoni and Vincenzo Tangorra.
- 2 Italian Social Democratic Party: Gabriel Carnazza, later turned fascist, and Giovanni Antonio Colonna di Cesaro.
- 1 Italian Liberal Party Salandra: Giuseppe De Capitani d'Arzago.
- 1 Italian Liberal Party Giolitti: Teofilo Rossi (as the successor Orso Mario Corbino).
- 1 Nationalist, later merged with the Fascist National Party: Luigi Federzoni.
- 2 Military: Armando Diaz and Paolo Thaon di Revel.
- 1 Independent and later on fascist Giovanni Gentile.
From 1 July 1924 forward, all other parties were purged and the government was composed exclusively of fascists, except for a few military officers.
