Muzik 247 is a music label based out of Chennai. Muzik247 acquires Music rights for South Indian Cinema mainly Malayalam, Tamil and Tulu. The company was founded in 2012 by Naveen Bhandari, and has achieved a large market share of the Malayalam film music.[1] Muzik247 possesses the soundtrack rights to some of the most successful Malayalam Movies of recent times - Kismath, Kammatipaadam, Jacobinte Swargarajyam Charlie, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Premam, Bangalore Days, How Old Are You?, Iyobinte Pusthakam, Vikramadithyan, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, to name a few. Some of the Tamil Movie for which they have rights are Kolanji, Bongu (film), Ennodu Vilayadu
History
In 2014 the company made their catalog available worldwide through online digital stores including iTunes and Spotify.[2] Later that year, the label released a collection of the best Malayalam film songs from 2014.[1][3][4] In 2015, the label released a phone app to provide streaming access to the songs featured in a new film Mariyam Mukku, this was considered to be a new development in film promotion for Mollywood cinema.[5] The label also produced a phone app to help promote the EKTA (Emerging Kerala Talent Association) Short Film Festival held in May 2015.[6][7][8] In July 2015 the company released the album Nilathattam, a collection of romantically inspired Mappila songs in a contemporary style.[9][10][11]
