Nogometni Klub Tezno Maribor (English: Tezno Maribor Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Tezno Maribor or simply Tezno, is a Slovenian football club from Maribor, which currently plays only in youth categories.

History

NK Tezno Maribor was founded in 2006.[1][3] The club is legally not considered to be the successor of NK Kovinar Maribor and the statistics and honours of the two clubs are kept separate by the Football Association of Slovenia and the Association of 1. SNL.[1] As the old club was dissolved in the middle of the season, NK Tezno was still allowed to fully finish the 2006–07 season.[3]

They started playing in the Slovenian Sixth League. They gained promotion in the 2009–10 season, and were promoted again in the next year, to the Slovenian Fourth League. In the 2012–13 season, they were relegated back to the Slovenian Fifth League. After another relegation in the 2015–16 season, the club withdrew from the league and focused only on youth categories.

Stadium

NK Tezno play their home matches at Kovinar Stadium, which is located in the Tezno district of Maribor.[2] The stadium can seat 200 spectators, while the overall capacity is around 1,000 (including the standing areas).[2] The stadium was once a speedway track.[2]

Colours

The traditional colours of the club are red and white.

Supporters

The club's supporters are named Rdeči Vragi (The Red Devils). They are mostly Tezno-based members of Viole Maribor, supporters of NK Maribor. They claim to have around 400 active members.[4]
