Naval Education and Training Command
The Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) is a Major Command of the United States Navy responsible for training. The Commander, Naval Education and Training Command (CNETC) directs over 22,000 personnel and over 160 various activities tasked with the preponderance of training activities for USN and USMC officer and enlisted personnel. NETC is headquartered at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida with NETC N7 located in the Naval Station Norfolk, a Fleet concentration area, and holds responsibility for numerous subordinate commands located across the United States.[1] These include:
- Naval Service Training Command, which has responsibility for:
- the Navy's sole remaining "boot camp" for new accession enlisted personnel, the Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois
- Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, also headquartered at NAS Pensacola
- Naval Officer Candidate School at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island
- Naval Education Training Professional Development Technology Center at NETPDTC Saufley Field, Florida
- The Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity (NETSAFA) at NAS Pensacola is a NETC activity dedicated to the education and training of International Military Students attending training at US Navy Commands.
- Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC), also headquartered at NAS Pensacola
- Aviation Training School
- Aviation Pre-Flight Indoctrination (API)
- Introductory Flight Screening (IFS)
- Aviation Commanding Officers Training (AVCOT)
- Aviation Enlisted Aircrew Training School
- Naval Aircrew Candidate School (NACCS)
- Aviation Rescue Swimmer School (ARSS)
- Aviation Survival School
- Aviation Training School
NETC used to have responsibility for the Naval Air Training Command (NATRACOM) under the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. In late 2007, NATRACOM was realigned under the Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) at NAS North Island, California[2] though NASC and its Naval Aviator and Naval Flight Officer Aviation pre-flight Indoctrination (API), Naval Enlisted Aircrew Training School (NACCS & ARSS), and Aviation Survival School remained with NETC.
