Neil Roy (Bengali: নীল রায় born 1983 a.k.a Abhirup Roy) is a corporate banker by profession. He is popularly known as the founder and owner of the prominent talent management brand FFACE.[1] FFACE was first launched in the year 2014 and since it has become a most talked about brand among the upcoming talents who aspires to be a part of the entertainment world.[2]

Early life

Neil completed his Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) from St Xavier's College Kolkata. He is the only son of producer & director Prabir Roy and Somasree Roy, General Manager of a MNC. He grew up in a posh locality in south Kolkata and lived his entire life in the city until his graduation. He worked as a child artist in a lot of TVC's, print ads and Bengali television soaps. He then moved to the financial hub of India, Mumbai to pursue his corporate career. On his return to Kolkata, he joined the world's leading financial services organisation in the year 2006 as a commercial banker. It was then, he played a pivotal role in a Bengali Film, Kaal Madhumas in the year 2013. It was 2014 when he decided to step into the entertainment industry in a new avatar to help young aspirants realise their dream and support them by launching FFACE,[3] a platform to showcase upcoming talent in the field of film and fashion.[4]

Claim to Fame

Neil shot to fame when he unveiled the celebrity studded glamorous FFACE Fashion Calendar, promoting fresh faces in Kolkata in the year 2014.[5] The gala event took place at a city's five star property.[6][7] On its 3rd year, FFACE celebrated 100 years of the Bangla Film Industry, felicitating the stalwarts of the industry for their significant contribution.[8]

Fraud

Due to the brand's immense popularity in Kolkata, fraudsters started taking advantage and approaching young talents promising them work in FFACE. The year 2015 witnessed many such incidents. The media took a step forward by highlighting such issues warning the young aspirants.[9]
