New Senior Investment Group (NYSE: SNR) is a U.S. publicly-traded real estate investment trust with a $3.1 billion portfolio of senior housing properties.
New Senior is one of the largest owners of senior housing properties in the United States. It owns 154 independent senior living, assisted living, and continuing care retirement communities across 37 states.
New Senior is externally managed and advised by FIG LLC, an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group.[2]
History
The company spun-off from Newcastle Investment Corp in November, 2014 onto the New York Stock Exchange.
On August 12, 2015, New Senior completed the acquisition of 28 private pay, independent living properties from affiliates of Holiday Retirement, the 2nd largest senior housing operator in the U.S., for $640 million. [3]
