At the 2014 Asian Games Nguyễn finished seventh in the 400 metres and finished fifth in the 4 × 400 metres relay.[1][2]

At the 2015 Southeast Asian Games Nguyễn won triple gold in the 400 metres, 400 metres hurdles, and 4×400 m relay while setting games records in the latter two events.
