Nicholas Harrison FRSC FinstP is a British physicist and professor of Computational Materials Science at Imperial College London. His work is concerned principally with the use of quantum mechanics to predict the properties of materials at the nanoscale.

He received his first degree from Birmingham University and performed the research that lead to his PhD within the Theory and Computational Science department at Daresbury Laboratory. In 1993 he was a visiting scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Washington State USA returning to Daresbury as head of the Computational Materials Science Group in 1994.

In 2000 he became the Professor of Computational Materials Science at Imperial College London. He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Physics in 2004 and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2008. He is head of the Energy Programme of the UK's Science and Technology Facilities Council.
