Novotel Manila Araneta Center is a hotel at the Araneta Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The hotel is among the hotels part of the Novotel brand of AccorHotels.
History
The hotel was launched in February 2012 with a ceremonial lowering of a time capsule, as well as a presentation of the hotel's features.[1] The hotel is a joint venture by Araneta Center Hotel, Inc. and AccorHotels.[2] The hotel building which cost around ₱3 billion was topped off in July 29, 2014.[3] It was initially planned by the end of 2014[4] and later early 2015[5] that the hotel will start accepting guest, but the hotel had its soft opening later in October 2015.[6] Then President Benigno Aquino III led the grand launch of the hotel in March 8, 2016.[7]
Architecture
The building of Novotel Manila Araneta Center has 24 floors.[7] EEI Corporation, a construction firm was involved in the construction of the hotel building.[2] London-based architect Sudhakar Thakurdesai, Kang Tang of Taiwan and lighting firm Lumino Design are likewise involved. Thai-firm IA49 were the interior designers. Local firm PGAA Creative Design did the landcaping work of the hotel.[8]
Features
Novotel Manila Araneta Center is marketed as a "five star hotel with four star prices". The hotel has 401 rooms and suites. The hotel hosts the Premier Lounge, an executive sky lounge where a 360-degree view of Metro Manila is available.[9]
The hotel has two main dining outlets, the Food Exchange Manila with a capacity of 208 people, and the Gourmet Bar by Novotel which primarily use organic produced from a dedicated farm situated in the town of San Mateo, Rizal. The establishment also host a swimming pool, spa and gym at its Balance Wellness Center, and an recreation area catered for children on its fifth floor dubbed as the Gymboree Kids Area.[10]
As a hotel positioning itself as a business hotel, Novotel Manila Araneta Center hosts six meeting rooms and a board room. A grand ballroom with no pillars are also hosted inside the hotel has the capacity of 1,200 guest, as well as a 2,500 square metres (27,000 sq ft) landscaped outdoor garden which also serves as an events venue.[10]
Hill & Associates was involved for the security features of the hotel building while ihD Ltd. did the features related to information technology, audio visuals and acoustics.[8]
