Nuages Jazz

Nuages Jazz are an Ecuadorian-based jazz group performing mostly in Gypsy and Semitic motifs.[1] They were voted the best jazz group in Ecuador and have released four albums so far.[2][3]

Nuages was initiated in October 2001 and is made up of musicians from Ecuador, France and Germany.[4] They have been combining jazz with various genres of music: Russian gypsy, Eastern European, French, and Semitic. The Brazilian bossa nova, the Colombian cumbia and Ecuadorian traditional music have become part of their selection as well.[2]

In 2006, Nuages received the prize for the bess Ecuadorian jazz group, and in 2007 embarked on a modest tour in the United States, performing in Texas at Texas Lutheran University and San Antonio.[5]
