Nymburk (Czech pronunciation: [ˈnɪmburk]; German: Nimburg, Neuenburg) is a city in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located 45 km east of Prague on the Elbe River. It is also home to the Czech men's basketball team ČEZ Basketball Nymburk. The city is part of the Prague metropolitan area.

The city was founded in around 1275 by Přemysl Otakar II.

Sport

The city is home to ČEZ Basketball Nymburk, a club that won the last 13 Czech Basketball Championships. It plays its home games at the Sportovní Centrum. For some of its highlight games, the club moves to the Tipsport Arena (Prague).

19–20 September 2015 an international rink bandy tournament was scheduled to take place.[1]
