Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination
The Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination (OIPC) has been a division within the Australian Government Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet from 18 September 2013. The current Minister is Nigel Scullion, who is the Minister for Indigenous Affairs in the Abbott Coalition Government.
It is responsible for implementing and overall coordination of Australian Government policy and programs for Indigenous Australians. The responsibilities of the now disbanded Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Services were transferred to a number of other government departments.
It was previously part of the then Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), the Minister was Jenny Macklin.
