Operation Tinombala is a joint-military operation conducted by Indonesian National Police and Indonesian Armed Forces to capture or eliminate an Indonesian terrorist group which support ISIL commanded by Santoso. This operation will ongoing until the leader Santoso is captured or killed. Recently,Indonesia military and police had succeed in killing Santoso but still General Tito Karnavian continue the operation to ensure the region safety from Santoso group[1]

Background

This operation was commenced by the Indonesian government to eradicate the Eastern Indonesian Mujahideen who spreading terror to Indonesian and Foreign citizens which located in Central Sulawesi. This operation was started in early March 2016 and still ongoing. This operation is the continuation of Operation Camar Maleo I & II.

Eastern Indonesian Mujahideen

This terrorist group was an Islamic Extremist Organisation. But, in 2014 this organisation pledged their allegiance to ISIL and became a terrorist group. Their current leader is Santoso. They are hiding in Central Sulawesi jungle in Poso.
