The Order of Saint George of Carinthia (Latin: Ordo militaris Sancti Georgii is an Austrian order of chivalry founded by Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor and Pope Paul II in the Lateran basilica 1 January 1469.[1] Its current Grand Master is Karl von Habsburg. Established to advocate the Christian faith, its original implicite goal was to combat the Ottoman Empire. Its first Grand Master was Johann Siebenhirter.
