PaceWildenstein
The Pace Gallery is a contemporary and modern art gallery founded by Arne Glimcher in Boston 1960 as The Pace Gallery.[1]
The gallery moved to Manhattan in 1963 and from 1993 to 2010 operated jointly with Wildenstein & Co. as PaceWildenstein.[2] There are three locations in Manhattan (one in Midtown at 32 East 57th St and two in Chelsea)[3] and one in Beijing, China. PaceWildenstein was the first major Manhattan art gallery to open a space in Beijing.[4] In January 2009, PaceWildenstein announced plans for an independent publishing company called Artifex press, dedicated to the creation of online artists' catalogues raisonnés.
In April 2010, Pace and Wildenstein announced that they would amicably dissolve the joint venture after 17 years, and that The Pace Gallery would again operate independently, although the companies jointly stated that they would continue to pursue business opportunities together.[5]
