Pants on Fire (foaled on March 20, 2008) is a retired racehorse whose biggest victory was in the Louisiana Derby.

Career

2-year-old season

As a 2-year old Pants on Fire ran four times, with only one victory.

3-year-old season

The stakes races began to pile up at the beginning of his 3-year old season. It started with the Count Fleet Stakes but then turned into graded stakes such as a second in the Lecomte Stakes and a sixth in the Risen Star Stakes before securing his first Grade I in the Louisiana Derby, ridden by Rosie Napravnik. He finished 9th in the 2011 Kentucky Derby.

4-year-old season

Pants on Fire's 4-year old season included two wins one allowance win and a non graded stakes victory and a couple defeats.

5-year-old season

Pants on Fire showed off some of his best victories during his 5-year old season including his wins in the Ack Ack Handicap, and the Monmouth Cup, But it all went down hill with a seventh in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, and a 16th place finish in the Japan Cup Dirt

6-year-old season

It took Pants on Fire almost 8 months just to return to the races, The race of choice to run in was the Monmouth Cup to try and defend his title. But he was third behind future Monmouth Cup winner Bradester, and Valid. Then he was 2nd in the Philip H. Iselin Breeders' Cup Handicap, and the Left Bank before winning his last prep for the Dirt Mile in the Wild and Wonderful stakes. During the Dirt Mile he was not a threat. The real battle for the win was between Goldencents and Tapiture while Pants on Fire was a distant third . He was third also in the Harlins Holiday Stakes.

7-year-old season

Pants on Fire began the 7-year old season with a win the Sir Shackleton Stakes. He then had defeats in graded stakes races such as the Churchill Downs Stakes, Metropolitan Handicap, and the Monmouth Cup before Pants on Fire retired with a repeat victory in the Wild and Wonderful stakes.
