Patna Pirates is a Kabaddi team based in Patna, Bihar that plays in the Pro Kabaddi League. The team is currently led by Dharamraj Charlathan and coached by Arjun Singh . They are champions of season 3 and season 4. They become the first team to retain their title after defeating Jaipur Pink Panthers in season 4 final. The team is owned by Rajesh Shah and play their home matches at the Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna.[1]
Franchise history
Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is a professional kabaddi league in India, based on the format of the Indian Premier League T20 cricket tournament.[2] The first edition of the tournament was played in 2014 with eight franchises representing various cities in India.[3] Patna Pirates is a Patna based franchise owned by Rajesh Shah.[4]
2014 season
Patna Pirates finished fourth in the league stage. They lost in the semi-finals. After that they won the 3rd place playoff over Bengaluru Bulls, and they finished at third stage in first season.
