Paul Burbridge
John Paul Burbridge[1] was the Dean of Norwich[2] in the last quarter of the 20th century. Born on 21 May 1932 he was educated at The King's School, Canterbury and King's College, Cambridge.[3] and New College, Oxford. After National Service with the Royal Artillery he was ordained in 1959 and began his ministry as a curate at Eastbourne Parish Church.[4] Following this he was Precentor at York Minster[5] and then a canon residentiary there.[6] In 1976 he was appointed Archdeacon of Richmond, a post he held until becoming the Dean of Norwich.
