Paula Long

Paula Long is an American software engineer and entrepreneur. She is currently the CEO and co-founder of DataGravity. In 2001, she co-founded EqualLogic, which was later sold to Dell.

Career

Paula Long attended college at Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts.[1] In her early career, Long worked at Bright Tiger Technologies in Acton, Massachusetts, where she supervised the product line of ClusterCATS, a web server clustering product. In 1999, Bright Tiger was acquired by Allaire Corporation, and Long went on to work at Allaire in several engineering management positions.[2]

In 2001, Long co-founded storage provider EqualLogic in Nashua, New Hampshire alongside Peter Hayden and Paul Koning. In 2008, EqualLogic was acquired by Dell.[1] Long remained at Dell as vice president of storage until 2010.[2] After leaving Dell, Long worked as vice president of product development at Heartland Robotics.[1][3]

In 2012, Long and John Joseph co-founded DataGravity, where she serves as CEO. The company, located in Nashua, New Hampshire, makes software that provides information about the transfer of and access to data on storage arrays.[1][3]

Long has served on several boards, including SugarSync from 2010–2015,[4] StorSimple from 2011–2012,[5] and ClearSky Data since 2014.[6]

Awards

Long won the New Hampshire High Tech Council's Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2008.[7] That same year, Long won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the northeast region, and was also a national finalist for the same award.[2]
