Peanut milk

Peanut milk in a blender before filtering.

Peanut milk is a non-dairy beverage created using peanuts and water. Recipe variations include salt, sweeteners, and grains. It does not contain any lactose and is therefore suitable for people with lactose intolerance.

Similar in production to almond milk, soy milk, and rice milk, the peanuts are typically ground, soaked, sometimes heated, and then filtered through a fine filter: the resulting liquid is considered the "milk".

Use against malnutrition

Homemade or locally produced peanut milk is promoted as a means of combating child malnutrition in developing countries.

Commercial products

Signs and Wonders, a commercial brand of peanut milk that originated in San Francisco in 1999, has received attention for the beverage's supposed health benefits.[1]

KK Cafe has announced that they are closing [2] as of January 13, 2015 and do not have plans to continue production of Signs and Wonders peanut milk.
