Peppermint Bay

Peppermint Bay is a restaurant tourism venture located at Woodbridge, south of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It was developed by well established Tasmanian tourism developer Simon Currant. The site consists of a bar, restaurant (formerly known as award winning The Stackings),[1][2] and function venue. The venue also operates Peppermint Bay Cruises, which provides a cruise ferry service from Sullivans Cove on the Hobart waterfront direct to the venue at Woodbridge.

History of the site

The venue's name is from the former name of the town of Woodbridge.[3]

The complex is built on the site of the former Woodbridge Hotel. In the 1880s, it was converted into a homestead called "Cliff House", and was owned by Richard Deodatus Poulett-Harris. His daughter, Lily Poulett-Harris, founder of women's cricket in Australia, spent most of her brief life there.[4]
