The Premier Fruits Group is an Australia-based fresh fruits and vegetables supply chain company.[1][2] Its business is regarded as the second biggest in Australia in fresh fruit and vegetables.[3]

History

Established in 1998 at the former West Melbourne site of the Melbourne Markets, the company has since established farming and marketing enterprises cover all major Australian markets, along with markets in the United States and Asia.[4] It has farming operations in Bundaberg, Queensland and Goulburn Valley, making it one of Australia's largest tomato producers. In 2014 the company acquired South Australian greenhouse vegetable production business Freshway Farms and long-standing produce wholesaler Stam Fruits Supply.[5] In mid 2016 the company merged with La Manana Group.[6][7]

The company's most notable people consist of Melbourne Victory FC chairman Anthony Di Pietro, who is CEO and a board member. Carlton FC chairman Mark Lo Giudice is also long standing a board member.[8][9]

The Premier Fruits Group has been a long standing sponsor of professional association football (soccer) club Melbourne Victory FC since the club's founding in 2004. Currently a premier partner of the club,[10][11] company CEO Anthony Di Pietro was an inaugural board member of the club. In early 2011, Di Pietro became the second chairman in the football club's history.
