Pro Evolution Soccer (also known as World Soccer: Winning Eleven 5 in Japan and North America) is the first installment of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer football video game series that was released in 2001.
Other versions
World Soccer: Winning Eleven 5 - Final Evolution was also released in Japan after the release of Pro Evolution Soccer in Europe.[1]

The PlayStation 2 version received "universal acclaim" according to video game review aggregator Metacritic.[2] In Japan, Famitsu gave both the original and J.League versions a score of 34 out of 40,[7][8] and the Final Evolution version 33 out of 40, all on the same console version.[9]
